I want to break from my usual style this time...
instead of composing a poem or a short story,
i wanna share a love poem I received two and a half-decades ago...
I vividly recalled this from my weak memory...
because the author's kind of love is UNFORGETTABLE...
he sacrificed the good things of his youthful life for me
because he thought "I was the best part of it"....
but maybe he was WRONG...
because i know I WAS NOT and WILL NEVER BE...
I just hope that wherever he is now,
he is genuinely happy with someone
who can give him a love that he deserves..
The poem doesn't have a title ...
but i was touched by the way the author expressed
what the name R-U-B-Y meant to him....
R ose from the Garden of Eden
the most beauteous in paradise,
will I ever find another
to flourish with my love and care...
U nconquerable they say,
is your garden abode
I say "Omnia Vincit Amor"
"Omnia Vincit Amor"
B y the power of the Most High,
you were transformed into a woman
who gladdens my heart with a smile
and cheers my soul with gentle words...
Y ou're everything my eyes will gaze on..
my lips will kiss, my hand will touch
not only 'til death do us part,
but even "life after death my love"...
THANK YOU for being a part of my life
and I am SO SORRY that I was not able to love you back..
not the way you want me to...
